- What is the most important thing about your brand clothing label? Is it color, design or tag line?
- A lot of new designers are forgetting few things: durability, affordability, personalization and placement.
- Tagless heat transfers clothing tags offer a lot of benefits for new designers who are trying to find the ONE label for branding.
DURABILITY:
Tagless heat transfers are durable. Processing image onto garment make the transfer very durable and once the transfer is on the garment it cannot be removed. There are a lot of transfer options to choose, but make sure that you know your fabric composition so you get the transfer that works for your particular fabric. Always follow the manufacturer applying instructions. If you do so your transfer clothing label will stand up to constant use and wear. If you are getting stranded and confused with so many transfer options on the market- always ask for samples for testing. Or you can send your fabric swatch to your transfer maker for testing.
PLACEMENT:
There are many techniques to place a label, logo or name on garments. Some of them are complex and some are fairly simple. The most common and efficient ones to use are the heat transfer labels. They are easier to apply, and you don’t need industrial level machines or techniques to apply them. They are less bulky than woven labels, and are much more detailed and neater. In a lot of cases transfers are easier to put on the garment than sewing labels. The advantage to use heat transfer label is than they can be super small and still will be transferable on the garment where small sewing label will very hard to sew into garment. They work great for designers that may want to remove the pre-existing manufacturers label and re-brand the items with a new logo. If you are not comfortable with removing the label and sewing in a new one, then a heat transfer makes the most sense for re-branding to look very professsional.
PERSONALIZATION:
Customization of a clothing label is very important. With heat transfers is a little easier than with sewing labels like woven or printed clothing labels. Almost any design can be transformed into a tagless heat seal tag. Something to consider when designing a winning logo for a heat transfer application: A design made with bold lines works best. Logos with smaller and ornate fonts or designs tend to look too busy and muddled on a heat transfer. You may have multiple colors of garments and are having a difficult time coming up with a way for your logo to be clearly seen on all of your garments. A perfect solution is to choose from many different shades of gray. That way, it will show up on dark and light colors.
AFFORDABLITY:
Heat transfer labels are very affordable when compared with other clothing tag options. You can pair tagless transfer with low- cost printed care or size labels if necessary, to include the care and fiber content of your garments. That way you can reserve the heat transfer label to be only your logo and/or tagline. The smaller, low cost printed label can be used for all other pertinent information. It’s a very popular combination.
